Trip Overview

Everest Two Passes Trek, Renjo la pass (5,435 m) and Chola pass (5,420 m) is a dynamic destination for trekkers who have an immense desire for adventurous trek crossing through the highest passes in the world. Besides, a distinct view of enormous Mount Everest with other numerous skyrocketing peaks and hiking to Everest Base Camp makes these two passes trek more incredible. 
Our 17 days package of Everest two passes trekking begins with a flight to Lukla. After that our trek starts towards Namche bazaar passing Phakding and Monjo along catching attractive views of high mountains, we cross high passes and Gokyo valley too. From there steeping Everest base camp trekking route, the trail takes towards the viewpoint of Kalapathar to sight 360° vista throughout the high Himalayas. 
Rhododendron and pine forests, suspension bridge, Sherpa settlements, glacial valleys, Buddhist Monasteries (oldest Khumbu region monastery in Tengboche) and Namche Bazaar (Himalayan region town featuring all modern facilities) are additional highlights of this two passes trekking.

Day 1: Arrival day:

Today the first day of our trip, our organization agents will be there to pick you up at Tribhuwan International Airport. You will be heartily welcomed and shifted towards a tourist standard hotel. We additionally plan for meeting at our office to discuss our trek and at the evening hour, we offer welcome dinner in luxurious Nepalese local restaurants where you can enjoy cultural dance and music with great Nepali food items.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,840 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,652 m) | Flight: 25 min | Trek: 3 hours |  Meal: BLD

Early morning, our private vehicle drops you at Tribhuwan International Airport to make our flight towards Lukla (gateway of Khumbu region). After (30 to 35 minutes) spectacular flight over the tall Himalayas, we finally land on Tenzing Hillary Airport along catching our crew members there, we engage in arrangements to develop our trek forward. After leaving Lukla, we walk nearly for four hours to reach Phakding to stay overnight. 

Day 03: Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) | Trek: 5-6 hours | Meal: BLD

Aiming our destination, we trigger our trek forward and move towards Monjo (Sagarmatha National Park gateway) crossing several settlements and few suspension bridges. After steeping Sagarmatha National Park, guide deals with fundamental National stop customs at the entry point while at that hour, you can enjoy tea house throughout. Continuing trek by catching vertical drop down the slope offers a couple of suspension bridges and finally, the trail leads uphill towards Namche Bazaar to spend the night there. 

Day 04: Khumjung (3,790 m) – (Acclimatization day) | Trek: 1-2 hours | Meal: BLD

Normally, we start to experience different climate and temperature from this point of elevation so before steeping additional height acclimatization is very essential and this day, we don’t develop our trek forward but we stay active. We plan to visit nearby settlement Khumjung or hike towards old Sherpa village Thame and Namche Bazaar offers National park head office, monasteries, museum and internet cafes for your leisure hours.

Day 05: Thame (3,844 m) | Trek: 5-6 hours | Meal: BLD

Leaving the main trail of Everest base camp trek, we head northeast towards Tibet and flat trail drops to Phurte crossing Gongla joined by various religious communities. Passing Phurte, we climb up towards Thamo viewing high mountains and after exploring Thamo town for a certain time we ascend the trail along crossing the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River to reach Thame. For remaining hours, we explore Thame village and stay overnight there. 

Day 06: Lumde (4,380 m) | Trek: 5-6 hours | Meal: BLD

This day our trail takes through the south bank of Bhote Koshi River to climb up passing few suspension bridges, authentic settlements, short and long mini walls, religious communities, Monasteries, and domains of yaks in the way to reach Marulung. From there, we follow the north bank of Bhote Koshi River and walk uphill to step Lumde through the dry valley. We spend this night at a lodge in Lumde. 

Day 07: Gokyo (4790 m) via crossing Renjo-la Pass (5360 m) | Trek: 6/7 hrs. | Meal: BLD

Today, we hike for nine to ten hours leaving Lumde along towards base of Renjo la pass following beautiful path and deserted valley. After that walking through quite a difficult and tricky path viewing tall mountains including Mount Everest, we cross first pass (Renjo la pass) of our trip to reach Gokyo Lake. After steeping our destination, we stay overnight at lodge in Gokyo. 

Day 08: Gokyo Ri [optional hike] and Dragnak (4,700 m) | Trek: 6/7 hrs. | Meal: BLD

Today, we ascend the first peek of our trip (fine viewpoint of the world). From the top, we can get a stunning view of Mount Everest and many other high stunning peaks. After that, we move forward towards the top to explore Gokyo RI by crossing three to four-hour zig-zag trials on the way. From there, we set off the trial and head far side of the glacier to camp at Dragnak to spend our night.

Day 09: Cross Chola pass (5,368 m) and Dzongla (4,830 m) | Trek: 7 hours | Meal: BLD

Today is the day to hike for long hours so we start our trek early morning to ensure that we cross the Chola pass and descend Dzongla in good time. Gradually, ascending alongside the river up a small valley to step sandy rigid line gives a great view of high mountains and Chola pass. Moving forward through the grassy path, we reach the base of pass along after that using crampons and rope on the difficult way, we cross high pass to step Dgongla for stay overnight. 

Day 10: Gokarshep (5,160 m)| Trek: 4-5 hours | Meal: BLD

After crossing amazing high passes, we target to step Kalapathar (5,545 m) highest elevation point of our trip and move forward leaving Dzongla early morning but this day following the west bank of Khumbu glacier, we start walking upward till Lobuche pass. After crossing this pass, we meet the junction point of two glaciers of the Khumbu region along we walkthrough across this glacier to meet Gokershep for overnight. 

Day 11: Everest base camp (5,380 m) | Trek: 7-8 hours | Meal: BLD

Early morning catching the rigid of Khumbu glacier, we walk aiming to step Everest base camp and finally after stepping there we will be offered by best greed of colorful Buddhist praying flags and 360° vista from high elevation with many high snowy mountains around. We spent some hours exploring eye-catching views and walk back down towards Gokarshep. Leisure time will be spent by exploring Gokarshep and night will be spent there at Lodge. 

Day 12: Kalapathar (5,545 m) and Lobuche (4,910 m) | Trek: 7 hours | Meal: BLD

Early morning, we walk up to reach Kalapathar viewpoint before sunrise to sight stunning and magnificent color changing the view of Kalapathar by first sunrays of the day along that we enjoy uncountable eye-catching sceneries around tall mountains before heading down towards Gokarshep and continuous walk from Gokarshep takes to Lobuche for overnight stay.

Day 13: Tengboche (3,837 m) | Trek: 4-5 hours | Meal: BLD

Today, we head towards Tengboche leaving Lobuche early morning following Everest trail down to the scenic valley. We pass many famous and well-known settlements including Pangboche at the base of Amadablam along we view many huge mountains and cross numerous rivers to step Tengboche. We explore the Tengboche monastery (Khumbu region old monastery) on our remaining time and get a lodge for overnight. 

Day 14: Monjo (2,835 m) | Trek: 4-5 hours | Meal: BLD

From Tengboche, a steep descent takes through bird-filled rhododendron forest towards Dudh Koshi River at Phunki Dingma. From here, we climb up the opposite bank passing several praying stones, flattering flags and mini walls along the continuing trail leads towards Namche Bazaar. Spending some hours on Namche Bazaar, we sweep down the steep descent to step village of Monjo to stay overnight. 

Day 15: Lukla (2,840 m) | Trek: 6-7 hours | Meal: BLD

This is the last walking day of our trip. Our developed trial now passes numerous teahouses and crosses rivers before climbing up the hillside to reach Phakding. From thereafter developing 3 to 4 hours walk, crossing through pleasing pine and rhododendron forest, we reach our aimed destination Lukla to stay overnight there. This night we host eve party with our crew members in a fine restaurant. 

Day 16: Fly to Kathmandu (1,300 m) and transfer to hotel | Meal: B

This day we leave the Himalayas so all the Airport formalities and porters are managed by the guide and mostly flight schedules are planned in morning hours so we catch our morning scenic flight over the Himalayas towards Kathmandu for 30 to 35 minutes. Our luxurious vehicle will be awaiting your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport to transfer you towards the fine standard hotel.

Day 17: Departure day | Meal: B

Last day focusing your flight time, you can go for shopping to collect gifts for friends and family members. We help you with your necessary arrangements along our private vehicle will be there to transfer you to the airport focusing departure time. Our good wishers and representatives will be there with greetings to wish your safe journey and steps ahead.

Useful Information

PASSPORT AND VISA: 
All the foreign nationals (except Indian nationals) are required to display Visa while entering Nepal. Nepalese Visa can be obtained either at Nepalese Embassy of the respective country or can be obtained during your arrival at the International Airport in Kathmandu or from Nepal’s border entry point in Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki on the Nepal-India border and Kodari on the Nepal-China border.
Certain nationals are requested to arrange Visa prior to arrival in Nepal. The listed countries are- Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Liberia and cannot secure Nepalese Visa on arrival.

MONEY & CREDIT CARD INFO    
Most of the credit card, master and visa card is blocked from your card provider. It may be because of a security reason. It, sometimes, may bring you in a problematic situation that you can't get money from ATMs. To find yourself free from this problem, you can call your card provider before you travel to Nepal and inform there that you are traveling to Nepal. Ensure them to give the authorization for the payment. In Nepal, 3.5 % service charge is applicable as per Nepal Bank rules, on top of your payable amount for the trek cost. So, we suggest you bring some cash in USD just in case your card doesn’t work. Likewise, be sure you have brought some small amount for your daily expenses as well as for those items which are not included in our cost. If you want to exchange money, we provide you with the facility to change your money. Or, you can take help from Money Changers in Thamel.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: 
While traveling to Nepal, you are requested to have travel insurance that should cover any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Especially, your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delay, and cancellations.
Insurance Policy:
Traveling in the Himalayas is full of adventurous; hence it is wise to choose a proper insurance policy. While choosing your insurance policy, make sure that it will protect all such unforeseen expenses. You must ensure that the policy you do take provides an adequate level of protection, well familiar with your itinerary and covers you for the activities involved. You must carry proof of insurance (e.g. your insurance certificate) with you on the holiday or send us scanned copy and it must be issued from your homeland.

VACCINATION FOR NEPAL    
Travelers should consult with their physician or update on vaccination requirements before travel. (Your doctor or the health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities). For traveling to Nepal, we recommend you to take vaccination of Polio, Tetanus, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, etc. However, it is not mandatory but recommended.

ALTITUDE SICKNESS (ACUTE MOUNTAIN SICKNESS)
Altitude sickness, also known as AMS (acute mountain sickness), is caused by a lack of oxygen at high altitudes (normally above 3,000m). It occurs as the result of our bodies’ inability to adapt to a sudden increase in altitude. If given time, our bodies will adjust and a gradual ascent will decrease the possibility of altitude sickness. 

PREVENTION OF AMS: Go slowly, drink a lot of water, and pay attention to the sensations of your body. If symptoms occur you have climbed too far for the day. Rest at the same altitude will give you time to acclimatize and usually relieve mild symptoms. 
MILD SYMPTOMS: Headache, nausea, loss of appetite, and mild shortness of breath with minimal exertion, difficulty sleeping, dizziness or lightheadedness, mild weakness, fatigue, a general unwell feeling. 
SERIOUS SYMPTOMS: The inability to recover from shortness of breath with rest, severe persistent headache, low urine output, vomiting, confusion, delirium, loss of coordination. These require immediate descent as acclimatization will not take place at the same altitude. 
The key is to trek slowly, carry a light pack and just take it easy. Allow your body the time it needs to acclimatize.
