Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

Trip Overview

Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek – North and South Base Camps Kanchenjunga Trek

The Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is one of Nepal’s most pristine and least-traveled trekking experiences, taking you deep into the far-eastern Himalayas to the base of Mount Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), the third highest mountain in the world. This trek is ideal for trekkers seeking raw wilderness, cultural authenticity, and dramatic mountain scenery far from crowded trails.

Unlike popular routes such as Everest or Annapurna, the Kanchenjunga region remains largely untouched, offering a true sense of exploration through remote valleys, ancient villages, alpine meadows, and towering glaciers.

Highlights of the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

  • Trek to both North and South Base Camps of Mount Kanchenjunga
  • Spectacular views of Kanchenjunga, Jannu (Kumbhakarna), Yalung Kang, and Kabru peaks
  • Walk through the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, rich in biodiversity
  • Experience authentic cultures of Limbu, Rai, Sherpa, and Tibetan-influenced communities
  • Remote trails with minimal crowds
  • Lush forests, rhododendron valleys, glaciers, and high alpine landscapes
